Libya offers more aid to Guinea Bissau

Two Libyan cargo planes has landed in Guinea Bissau carrying the second cargo of machines, equipment and insecticides related to the fight against locust swarms.

The Minister of Agriculture and rural Development in Guinea Bissau, Joao de Carvalho, and members of the Libyan people's bureau to Guinea Bissau were at Orvaldo Verra International Airport to receive the aid.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Guinea Bissau expressed his country?s pride to the Leader of the Revolution and Libyan people for the aid offered to them to fight the desert locust plague which have threatened their agricultural products.

?This is an evidence of the fraternity and especial deep relations between Guinea Bissau and Great Jamahiriya. ? He said.
The minister of agriculture and rural development in Guinea Bissau said that the aid is in expression of the special brotherly relations between the two countries.

He also expressed the delight of Guinea Bissau's people and specially farmers and their happiness to this aid.

?The assistances offered by the Great Jamahiriya made farmers feel assurance on their agricultural products.? He said.

Sources at the Agricultural and Pastoral Development Authority in Libya said that the aid comprises eight desert equipped vehicles and more than 26 tons of anti-locust diluted and concentrated chemicals, pointing out that five Libyan engineers and technicians specialized in fighting the desert locust accompanied the cargo.
