www.gpc.gov.ly, is a new website launched by the Secretariat of the General People?s Committee that allows people to communicate directly with the officials there. The website contains a lot of articles and resolutions introduced by the Secretariat, and it offers many services that save the time and efforts. It was designed in a professional way that helps people scan the content easily. In a click of a mouse, one can preview a lot of services at the same time. The new website offers the latest news and events relating to the Secretariat including its meeting, programmes and projects to be implemented by the Secretariat. The site is split into different sections of importance to people. There is the new resolutions page, the new laws one , and important documents page where they can be downloaded. Have your say, is a corner at the site where people discuss some problems prevailing in the society. The site also lists names of students who were granted an admission to do post-graduate abroad. Also one can browse other websites related to GPC including the Secretariat of Economy, Finance and Public Security. ? New features, important documents and services are to be added to the site soon,? Abdul-Minam Lamoushi, Head of Information Office at GPC was quoted as saying. ? Our site will be improved by the positive suggestion from visitors,? he says. The site has attracted so many visitors since its introduction to the internet. Sources at the Secretariat said that Dr. Shokri Ghanem, the Secretary of the General People?s Committee, reads incoming emails every day and he replies to most of them. People who sent inquiries to the site and received replies signed by Dr. Shokri were surprised and couldn?t believe it. Some of them said it is more than enough to receive a reply from the Secretary himself. This is what makes this site grow rapidly. It?s the direct communication between the people and the officials and the social problems discussed in it. Feedback received from visitors showed positive results and the inbox of the site is now full of daily messages and most of them are answered back. GPC website was designed and developed by IT Professionals from LJBC. NET. Jassem Alhrari, Faisel Alhorran and Mohammed Addali worked at the site for more than seven months to make it as flexible as possible. They say it has been designed to contain comprehensive information about GPC and they tried to make it easy for browsing by using PHP language. Asked about the visitors of the site, they say site hits were estimated at 3800 per day from 14-24 August, 120.000 per month, while about 2085 emails are received monthly, signs which mean that it will top internet sites in Libya. |
