2006-01-15 The General People?s Committee online, gpc.gov.ly, has hit a record of 500,000 visitors since its publishing on 14th July 2005, GPC online reported.


Visitors are flocking to the website as it considered to be one of the best Libyan websites.

Traffic Rank of gpc.gov.ly has also increased on Alexa, a traffic rankings website.

The website is rich in GPC news and resolutions. Lately they informed the visitors of how decisions and resolutions of the committee are passed.

The website also received daily emails which the staff deal with carefully. One email came from a man called Farj Alzwai from Benghazi who wrote that his three year old daughter went missing. He said that search for his daughter was in vain and he asked Dr. Shokri Ghanem to intervene.

? Dr. Shokri act quickly and asked the Secretary of Public Security to send a special force from Tripoli to find the girl. A few days later, the girl was found dead.? GPC reported in its website.

Now developers are working hard to add new features to the website.

? Work is underway to increase the bandwidth of the site and publish the English version.? GPC said.
