Training and Quality Institute organize the first international Petroleum Environmental Conference and Exhibition in May 2008.
The first meeting of organizing committee held on 12 June 2007 at Libyan Petroleum Institute, the meeting addressed by Mr. Mahmud Kamour, Manager, Environmental department (NOC), Chairman, Organizing Committee of Conference.
He introduces the committees' members, he talk about the important and the achievement of this conference. Then Dr Abdulla Elhenshir, the Chairman, Scientific Committee talk about the topics of the conference. The important dates and more information about the conference we will deliver sooner.

The 14th Arab Chemistry Conference will take place during t 18-21/2/2008 in Tripoli


It is a tradition for the Arab Union of Chemists, AUC, to hold its scientific conference every two years in one of its member counters. Now, the Libyan Chemical Society and the Libyan Petroleum Institute (formerly, Petroleum Research Centre), will jointly organize the 14th Arab Chemistry Conference (ACC-14) during the period 18-21/2/2008 in Tripoli – Libya.
In addition to the main branches of chemistry, the conference welcomes petroleum & gas research participations, since the oil industry is considered to be the core of most Arab economics. The conference will also concentrate on the roll of chemistry and its importance in creating a healthy and clean environment. Research papers in the field of chemical education and the methods of increasing the efficiency of chemistry teaching are also welcomed.

COURSE LAYOUT
A five-day course (8.30am – 2.30pm) including the following: - 1-Sources of air pollution (power stations, refineries, transport, etc). 2-Air pollutants and Kuwait/Libya EPA values. 3-Introduction to the use of numerical modeling in predicting air pollution levels. 4-ISCST3 US-EPA code and its capabilities. 5-Using the ISC-View software through examples. 6-Problem solving and scenarios to consider. 7-Case studies based on past projects.

Meeting between NOC and BG


a meeting was held between Dr Shokri Ghanem, Chairman of NOC and Mr. Ian Perks, President & General Manager of BG, North-West Africa. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Peter Thompson, General Manager, BG - Libya Branch, Mr. Abdelmajid Al-Sheh, Manager, Maintenance & Projects Department of NOC, Mr. Ali Wazeera and Mr. Fadel Hareab, Department of Investment.
During this meeting, in particular, topics relating to the Company’s general activities in Libya were discussed.
